A Bite of... Morticia Knight

“My, my. The doctor is in the house—have mercy.” - Terrence

Thank you Imogene for having me at your blog today, so that I can talk about some hot doctor love – yum! I have a new release at Total-E-Bound – it is Book 3 in the Uniform Encounters series, and this one features an older ER doctor and a younger paramedic. There is lots of naughtiness in this one, because the younger stud belongs to the sex club, Sinsation. Quite experienced in the art of erotic pleasures,  will he able to win the heart of his older, more conservative crush? And will he be able to resist the lure of the young men at Sinsation? But there is more than the promise of sexual thrills that draw the two men together. It turns out they both share a passion for classic films.
In the following excerpt, Terrence, the young paramedic, is taking a chance by making a move on Jackson - the ER doctor - in the hospital cafeteria.

He walked up to the self-serve and poured himself a large cup. He grabbed some creamer and went to sit down. Just as he was about to take a seat in his usual corner, he caught sight of a tall, lean African-American man entering the cafeteria. He was obviously a paramedic, but he held himself with grace, the same way a professional model might. He turned slightly and Jackson’s first impression, before he realised who the stunning man actually was, was that he had a slightly exotic, Taye Diggs look to him. But he recognised him. The flirty guy who’d hit his head.
He’d definitely thought that the young man was attractive then, but he’d had plenty of other things on his mind, none of which had had to do with picking up ER patients. He turned away so he wouldn’t be caught gawking, grabbed a chair at his table and sat down. He kept his head lowered, hoping the model-like man didn’t notice him.
“Dr Reed, right?”
Jackson stared up into the warm brown almond-shaped eyes of his ex-patient. He had to keep reminding himself of that. He’d had enough personal troubles at the hospital to last him a lifetime. There was no point in adding to them with this admittedly delectable specimen.
“Hi. Forgive me, I forgot your name.”
The young man placed a hand across his chest as if he’d been struck to the heart. “I’m devastated, Doctor. But you’ll find I’m very forgiving in so many ways.”
The last sentence ended on a smooth sexy note that seemed to wrap itself around Jackson’s insides. He wasn’t sure how comfortable he was with what was happening. Or what might happen.
“I’m Terrence Samuels. I was the medic who hit my head last week. You tended me. Quite nicely, I might add.”
It was obvious to Jackson that Terrence was interested in more than casual conversation. Although Terrence was just the type of guy he was usually attracted to, the last thing he was looking for was to hook up with anyone. And especially not someone from the hospital after all he’d been through recently.
“Nice to see you, Terrence, hope you’re feeling better.”
Jackson looked back down at his coffee and busied himself by stirring away. He hoped that that would end the whole thing. But Terrence couldn’t take a hint any better than Marla, and slid into the chair across from him. Although, Terrence was definitely a huge improvement over his recently terminated colleague.
“I don’t mean to bother you, Doc, I just wanted to have a chance to talk a little bit, and then I’ll leave you alone.” Terrence seemed to be trying to keep his voice low.
He called me Doc, like Gable in It Happened One Night.
He chuckled a little at the thought.
“What’s so funny, Doc?”
“What you called me just now. ‘Doc’. It reminded me of an old Gable movie. You know, Clark Gable?”
Terrence leant back in his chair, his mouth opened in what looked like complete surprise. “Yeah, I know all right. You mean It Happened One Night.”
Now it was Jackson’s turn to be surprised.
How does this young kid know about that film? I wasn’t sure he would even know who Clark Gable was.
“You know that film? The one from the thirties?”
“Are you kidding me? Gable’s my all-time favourite hot hook-up.”
“Really?” Jackson shook his head and laughed a little more. “I’m honestly stunned. I didn’t think you would be into those types of films.”
“Thought I’d only like gangsta films?” Terrence smirked, a questioning look on his face.
Jackson frowned. “Hardly. It’s just unusual to find younger people interested in classic movies, that’s all.”
Terrence moved closer to Jackson, and said his next words softly and slowly. “Well I’m very interested, Doctor. You have no idea how much. And don’t worry, I’m not that young.”
Jackson swallowed.
Oh crap.
“Maybe we should get together some time and talk Gable, watch some old movies, and do whatever else we might enjoy.”
“Uh…yeah, I don’t think so.”
Terrence looked crestfallen. “Don’t tell me it’s because I’m black.”
“What? No! Actually, I prefer… I mean, it’s just not a good idea.”
Terrence gave Jackson a knowing smirk. “Fascinating.” He smiled, showing off straight white teeth surrounded by a pouty set of kissable lips, decorated with the slightest touch of facial hair that extended down around his face and chin.
Model indeed. GQ, I would say.
“Aah, I was just playin’ with you about the whole black thing. But not the rest. That I was very serious about.”
Jackson was taken in by Terrence’s soft and sexy voice. It was wreaking havoc with his dick, threatening to embarrass him in the cafeteria. As if that hadn’t happened enough already.
Maybe I should stay away from this place.
“So, Doc, whaddya say?”
Jackson still didn’t answer, he felt frozen in place. Everything in his body screamed yes, but his mind kept chastising him and telling him no.

Even though this is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone *wink*

A Bite of... Molly Ann Wishlade

Today I'd like to welcome Molly to my blog!  Molly hails from Wales (the land of my fore-fathers!)

BLURB –
After more than a decade of separation, can Nate Hamilton really put aside his hurt and learn to forgive the woman who destroyed his life then help her to find her heart’s desire in Deadwood?

Deadwood, 1878, Nate Hamilton and his former sweetheart Evelyn Campbell meet up after more than a decade of separation. When the widowed Evelyn discovers that her tuition post has fallen through, she is left destitute and concerned about how she will provide for her son, until Nate offers her a way to earn some money – and a way to exact his perfect revenge for her betrayal – he will pay her to be his own private whore.

The combination of past hurts, secrets and rekindled passion causes fireworks in and out of the bedroom!

Excerpt:

“Mr Hamilton?” He pulled a handkerchief from his waistcoat pocket and wiped his hands. “Mr Hamilton?”
He glanced at her and motioned for her to cover herself. He looked dazed, confused and even ashamed.
“So now we know, eh?” He tucked his waning erection into his trousers and buttoned them up. “You do remember how good it was between us.”
“Yes, Nate,” she whispered and she reached out towards him, her heart beginning to open as the memories flooded in. Tears stung her eyes and blurred her vision. She wanted to feel safe again, that the future held some promise of happiness. She wanted, no needed, to fall into his arms and to be held against his chest, to be loved until the sun set and she knew that he would never let her go. When he rose and moved towards her she opened her arms, expecting to feel his strong hug enveloping her, his face pressed against her hair, his renewed erection rock hard against her groin. Instead, there was a draught as he walked past her and stood at the door.
“Our time is up.” His voice was low, soft, dangerous. “Get dressed. I’ll see you here at the same time tomorrow.”
The door banged against the frame as he pulled it behind him and Evelyn stood alone.

Walking down the wooden staircase and into the bar of the Gem, Nate combed a hand through his hair then pressed his hat onto his head. He needed a drink.
“What’ll it be, Mr Hamilton?” Dan Doherty stood behind the bar polishing a glass.
“Whisky.” Nate took the glass and swigged, savouring the sting as it flooded through his mouth and down his throat. Though he didn’t drink much, he could understand why some men did. Sometimes life was so darned hard a man needed to drown it out and escape the pain.
“Another?”
Nate nodded.
“So how was she?” Dan pushed his hat back on his head and leaned over the bar, exposing yellow teeth in a crooked grin.
Nate glared at him. “What?”
“That Mrs Campbell. She look as good with ‘er clothes off?”
Nate balled his fists at his sides and ground his teeth together but his reply was controlled and assured. “Mind your business, Doherty. I’m paying for the use of that room and what goes on in there is none of your business. Al promised me discretion and you a beating if you fail to keep your flapper shut.”
Dan shrugged then turned to a rowdy group of men who’d just come in, muttering as he did so, “Ye get the mitten then did ye, Mr Big Bug.” Then he hawked and spat on the floor, missing the spittoon. Nate rested his elbows on the bar, moving his empty glass between his hands. When Doherty moved to refill it he put his hand over the top and shook his head. It wouldn’t do to get drunk—he couldn’t afford to lose control right then. Who knew what he’d do with Evelyn around and his mind in turmoil. Sober, he could just about cope but inebriated he might well surrender to the ache in his heart.
He turned his head to the side as one of the newcomers stood a bit too close and his sour sweat stung Nate’s nostrils. Goddamn these miners stank.
“So you guys here for the show or the pussy?” Dan questioned the miners as he filled their glasses.
“I was hopin’ to enjoy the show then get meself a bit o’ that fine pussy out back,” a recently arrived Irish immigrant replied.
“Well you’re in the right place fellas,” Dan slammed the whisky bottle down on the bar. “Now where are them damned whores?”
Nate watched as Doherty walked away, hollering female names. As if by magic, half- naked young women began to appear around the bar, their clothes soiled and torn, their sullen faces heavily painted. They plastered on smiles as they approached the men and wrapped themselves around them, acting as if they’d found their future husbands and wanted to give them a wedding night preview. It turned his stomach to see the men pawing at breasts and thighs and treating the women like prize cuts of meat. He plonked his money on the bar next to the glass then walked out into the hot and dusty Deadwood evening, shaking his head at the sorry state of affairs that was the Gem Saloon.

BIO –

I have always been an avid reader and writer of stories. I love getting lost in a novel and often regret finishing one as the characters are usually missed like old friends.

I indulge my insatiable hunger for romance and passion in the delicious worlds created by romantic novelists and having published one and with another in submission, I’m about to begin the next one!

I adore spending time with my family, taking long walks (although I’m still waiting for the rescue greyhound to accompany me), skiing, cooking my own secret recipe curries, drinking Earl Grey (in copious amounts) and discovering delicious wines.

I’d love to hear from readers so please feel free to comment on my blog or to email me.

A Close Encounter with... Sage Marlowe

Sage Marlowe’s First Anniversary Blog Tour & Giveaway
After the Happily-Ever-After—Sub-Culture

Hello and welcome to the latest stop of my 1st Anniversary Blog Tour & Giveaway. One year has passed since my successful debut novel, Sub-Mission, was released on May 14, 2012, and a lot has happened during those twelve months. I’m taking the chance to look back and tell you a bit about the background of the books I’ve published, but also about things that happened in my life or that are on my mind. There’s one stop for every book, and of course, there are prizes waiting for you, because as always, good things for me mean good things for you, my dear friends and readers. Please read the “Giveaway” section below for details.

Today, I’d like to talk to you about Happily-Ever-Afters. As all of us romance readers and writers know, romance books require a HEA or at least a HFN, meaning the heroes / heroes & heroines / heroines live happily ever after with their loved ones, or at least happily for now with their future full of rosy promises. So far, so good, because hey, romance is escapism and we want our heroes & heroines to have happy endings in more than just the sexual sense.

But what does actually happen to our heroes & heroines after the HEA or HFN in a romance novel? Are their lives really full of roses once those magical two words “THE END” are written below their story?

The answer is simple: sometimes yes, sometimes no. Sometimes we authors are happy with the way a story has turned out, and we know that we have told everything there is to tell about our characters’ story. And sometimes we realise that there is a lot more to tell.

One of those stories that weren’t over for me at “THE END” is Noah and Pierce’s journey. They found each other in Sub-Mission and while there was never really a question whether they’re a great match or not, they are the perfect example for a couple that gets wrapped up in daily life so much that they lose sight of what’s most important to them—having each other and being together.

Many of us know what it’s like once the novelty of being with someone has worn off. Lovers become partners, especially when kids join the game. Sleepless nights, demanding jobs, hectic days… Add to that some deeper, wicked yearnings that touch on issues you thought you never wanted to tackle and you have a complicated relationship waiting to be destroyed.

But hey, if romance books are escapism and they’re supposed to show us a world where all struggles are over at THE END, why would we want to read about such problems? They’re not much different from our own, after all. Again, the answer is simple: because those are the same problems so many of us are dealing with. Because Noah and Pierce’s story shows how important it is not to lose sight of our partners despite everything life throws at us and, above all, to trust them with our hearts and keep talking.

It took Noah and Pierce a long time to understand this. If you want to follow them on the second part of the journey, join them in

Sub-Culture
When life gets on top, delving into a sub-culture may be just what it takes to keep a sinking relationship afloat

Five years after the bumpy start to their relationship, Noah and Pierce have settled well into their lives as a happy couple. The arrival of a new child should have made their matrimonial bliss complete, but the strain of raising a baby and a teenager, combined with a lot of pressure in their jobs, is beginning to take its toll.
In the midst of what already is a potentially explosive situation, Noah’s younger brother Jonah comes to stay with them, forcing Noah to face the issues he still has regarding his homophobic parents and adding to the emotional pressure he is under.

When Noah starts behaving oddly and Pierce just can’t seem to put his jealousy to rest, the cracks in their relationship become too severe to ignore any longer. They struggle to keep their sinking love afloat but as Noah craves the comfort a certain sub-culture can offer, Pierce finds himself wondering just how far he is willing to step out of his own comfort zone to save their love.
