Good News!

Okay... so yes, I have been hiding since the beginning of this month.  I had over 30 000 words left to write on the Illuminated Witch... I got sick (bummer!) and I had family stuff coming out the yang!

But! I'm glad to say The Illuminated Witch is done... in first draft.

It was a labour of love that at times I wondered if I'd ever finish.

Towards the end of writing my office started looking like a bomb site.  Never a good look, I can assure you... Just be pleased you can't see behind the laptop screen... the cords, pens and crumpled paper!

I had scraggly notes lying everywhere all over my desk...

My collection of coffee cups far exceeded this... Umm this is last night/this morning... Promise!

Research books competed for space with the timetables for the family and printers.

But I finally made the two words that make me go gooey ...

Surely they must be the two sweetest words in the English Dictionary? Well, I know my family think so because now there is a chance that some housework might get done. Even the dog was pleased. He was beginning to look like this:

Okay, so maybe I'm overstating it a little bit (but let me tell you, it isn't by much!!!)

And of course because I don't just have enough to do, I promised my husband that I would faithfully complete a project for him. A short 5 minute film of the area for two of the local Councillors to present at a conference.

So two days, bent over my husband's private computer creating this. Gee it puts it into perspective for me.  14 hours to create 5 mins of vision.

I topped off my manic work schedule with the trailer for Hesparia's Tears (You can see that one on the top right hand side of the page.)

I'm shattered. I'm shagged... Well so I thought, until I woke up this morning to find this in my inbox...

Now I'm perkier than a chipmunk on caffeine... Ready to start again... Uhh maybe after a break. So say hello! Tell me what you are up to... I might have goodies in my grab bag for commenters!

Ciao

Cover Reveals

There is something awesome when you can sit back and say... "Here are my next 3 covers."

Yes... that's the point I'm at.

So one by one... I present 3 covers - just click on the links to go to my author pages with every one of the publishers!

Loving Memories

Cool cover!  I love the fact that they used the Brisbane River. It was the first thing that caught my husband's eye when I showed him.

And the eyes of the hero and heroine.  Oh yes! Indeed!

This will release from Steam-EReads on 15 June!

The Shuttle

The Shuttle is an extension of one of my Hotter Than Hades challenges.

Isn't this spectacular? My wonderful friend Khloe Wren designed it for me! Squee!!!

It will be FREE for the first little while after release date.  Stay tuned for more details.

The Shoe Salon

The Shoe Salon is an extension of one of my Hotter Than Hades challenges.

I love this cover - it was designed by my clever friend Khloe Wren!

It will be FREE for the first little while after release date.  Stay tuned for more details.

Oh yes, and another should be ready shortly for sharing!

Cover Reveal and Another Contract

Yep... I did it again.  This time, my short story A Soldier, My Soldier has been sold to...

Evernight Publishing!

The title is due for release in August 2013 - but you can read a teaser here:  A Second Chance Soldier

This now takes me to a grand total of 14 contracts... Woo Hoo!

In other news:

COVER ART REVEAL!

Are you ready?  I think this must be about the most GORGEOUS cover art I have ever seen.

I have to send a huge thank you out to Emmy Ellis from Total-E-Bound for this!

And to think!  You only have to wait until August for this baby!  I love this book so much!  It's totally squee-worthy!

Now, I know there is more news coming... but to be honest... I'm working madly on finishing off the sequel to Blame The Wine, so I will be back with more goodies soon!

2013 - Starts with a Bang!

So the first quarter of 2013 is nearly done.  It's been a huge year for me.  Starting with floods...  (Yep we had more than one...)

Then comes releases - I have now got a whopping 9(?) titles that should be releasing in 2013...

STARBURST
THE PLAN
BLAME THE WINE
THE BLOOD BRIDE
HESPARIA'S TEARS
THE SHUTTLE
THE SHOE SALON
THE CHOCOLATE AFFAIR

And of course, there is one more which I still can't tell you about. (Hopefully soon I can announce the who and where...)

On the blog I've been inviting lots of friends to come talk about their journey in writing... Have you been enjoying that?  I do hope so.  If not, please let me know.  I love to make the blog as interesting as possible.

On the writing front:

I've finished one novella (which is currently on submission), nearly finshed the sequel to Blame The Wine (Hiding In Plain Sight), started the sequel to The Blood Bride (The Illuminated Witch).

(And this is the year I promised to slow down... uh huh!)

On a personal level - traveled to New Caledonia and Vanuatu... (hence my great new Facebook profile pic!!)

My oldest has started her last year of high school and my youngest is now also a senior at high school.  I've continued on my Rotary commitments :)  And applied bunny ears to my car - yes, I'll even add a photo later! (Thank heavens for the joys of the editing widget on Blogger!!)

Attended the ARRA Conference in Brissy and met up with some super fabulous authors!

The second half should (hopefully) be a little slower.  (Well mind you, with my release schedule, I think I'll be hopping from one blog to another over the next month or three...)

So - have I been busy enough?  Let me know your thoughts!

News! Again!

So, in what should be one of the last announcements of this type in the beginning of the 2013 calendar year (I kind of hope...)

The Chocolate Affair

has been picked up by Secret Cravings Publishing as part of the Edible Delights Anthology Volume 2.  It releases in July 2013.

Deanna has one love.  The chocolate factory of Scheherazade Chocolates has been bought out  by an off world consortium who is sending someone to inspect the workings.
JD Ruan has been sent to assess Scheherazade on behalf of the consortium.  But JD has a secret. He’s a demon.  But not just any kind of demon – no he’s a Pleasure Demon.
Secrets, abilities and hidden truths will find their way… especially when the chocolate is involved.

This title will be available from April 2013 with Beachwalk Press

More Cover Art :)

Yes, I've been very very good, hiding away in my office working.  In fact, I have been so good, I haven't yet shared my latest cover art for Star of the Fleet...

So here I am editing Starfire, worrying about edits of Star of the Fleet, and the fabulous Dawne Dominique hits me with this fabulous cover.  What can I say?

It is TOTALLY awesome!

Ah yes and to go with it is the updated Banner as well.  Watch out - this will be showing up in other places soon, too!

Apart from that, Blame the Wine is now being read over and I am working on 2 projects at once - The Blood Bride is finally back onto the screen and being edited (after discovering I lost the last 20 000 words somewhere...) and Beating Death (still on the working title there.)

I am looking forward to my break in Perth in about a week.  So I will only be putting up the odd post, here and there for the next little while.  On a really bright note, though, I will be catching up with the super fabulous Carolyn Wren (you are going to be hearing a whole heap more about her in the months to come!) who just happens to be my Critique Partner and also finalist in BOTH the Romance Writers of Australia Emerald competition (Category Title) AND the Daphne Du Maurier for Excellence in Mystery & Suspense writing.

Running Behind - Updates

Arrgghh. Life is never boring here. I feel like I am running so far behind myself, I just saw last week overtake me! Between kids, writing and all my other time consuming activities, I have barely got back to update what's going on.

News for the last couple of weeks.

Cover Art: Yes! The Cover Art has arrived for The Star of Ishtar. It is seriously awesome and another magnificent work from Dawne Dominique.

Ishtar will be available in April 2012 from Secret Cravings Publishing - and as soon as I have the date, I will let everyone know.

Banners:

On the note of the wonderful work by Dawne Dominique, I now have the most fabulous banner art. Just take a look at this!

Starline News:

You can now find Starline on Amazon, Barnes and Noble & All Romance EBooks.

Publicity:

I have just signed up for a virtual blog tour for the end of March, so watch out - Starline is heading your way soon.

Greta Van Der Rol - a fellow Darksider and the author of the successful Iron Admiral series is coming for a visit in the next couple of weeks. Watch out. Should be fun.

On the writing front:

Star of the Fleet is now complete in very rough draft format. Now this couple are a little different - after all they are older. Wait til you meet Julius and Kera. Woot!

Starburst the first scenes are written and it's shaping up to be HUGE! Well I suppose it had to be as it is the last in the universe.

Personally, this last year has been odd. From zero to three books, written, contracted and the first published.

Cover Art

It is a curious thing. As a new author I didn't feel like it was "real" until I got my cover art.

What cover art I hear you say? The cover for Starline arrived in my inbox this morning. Now I'm supposed to work through the day as usual when something inside me is screaming with excitements :)

But I'm fairly sure you will all agree. It is pretty special. So for your delectation, I present....
