Wow...I am in the very best of company today. Over on the Darksiders Down Under Blog I get to be today's fantabulous Dark Light.
Now that is soooo seriously cool because I am up there with the exalted Keri Arthur, Jess Anastasi and lots of very established authors.....
Yes you even learn about my secret wardrobe items :) Are you a closet something or other? Why not share it here today.
On the other hand, the first draft of Starfire is complete and ready for me to start working on....biggest problem is time now.....with the next two weeks taken up with school holidays, I have the kidlets home so I don't see too much work on Starfire taking place.
Well that is it for now.....remember to pop over to the Darksiders blog and say hi!
Love

Gah! Chickens, Guinea Pigs and Kids...
What a week this last 7 days has turned out to be. Monday was a public holiday and thinking I still had days before my latest clutch of chickens hatch, darling hubby and I decided we would take the kidlets to the movies. Now it is a no brainer ... heading off to see the latest (and thankfully last) HP movie. A touch of shopping and heading home to ..... shock horror! our chick (only 1 in the incubator that looks like it was fertile) has hatched while we are out. Well, we think, the hen downstairs is sitting on a clutch but not due for another week. Best get it organised to be a lone chick. Wake up Tuesday morning to cheeping as the hen downstairs starts bringing out her clutch. Quick pop them in with the lone. At lunchtime there is more and again that night. In the end we have 9 chicks.
Hubby then declares the lady at work has found him 2 female guinea pigs so they added to our brood....what a week with our increasing animal count at Old MacDonalds Farm (or rather Frog Haven!)
Then we get a phone call, daughters are needed to practice photography on.....
Writing 2 000 words achieved (a little on the low side) but lots personally. *Sigh* hopefully next week will be more productive :)
Catch you all soon, hopefully with more and bigger news.

Have you ever....
...had a day when you just wish you could crawl back into bed? Yesterday was one of them. So there I was, big plans for the day. Reached nearly 45 000 words on my second manuscript and then without a fizz, pop of bang first the desktop screen goes blank. Ok, that was bad luck, but we have a spare downstairs, then the laptop fails and lastly my external back up drive....uh oh, cause now I do have a problem....see everything is saved on both the computer and the back up drive....dearie dearie me.
Thanks to super hubby though.
He is organising for the computer and an old computer to be sent off to another town in our region to have repairs and back ups done. Bummer though about the external drive as I was going to organise to have it all backed up and brought back to me this week. But beggars can't be choosers.
So, while this is all really bad luck, it is able to be recovered from (I hope anyway) just going to slow down my efforts at world domination via books anyway.
Anyway, not that I am "stalking" my email client as someone lately suggested I should, but I am back to waiting on hearing from the publishers.
Have a great day

OMG!!!
So here I am practically bouncing off the walls in excitement. I know I need to sit down and be quiet, but lordy, it is hard today.
I sent off the first manuscript in the series, well actually a partial and have a request to see the whole thing. Yup, of course this could be a false start, but we all have to start somewhere....right?
My stomach is clenching with excitement though and really, for a first novel (my only other title has been a town history before so a bit of a change in pace) I think it bodes well, so long as I can keep the writing fresh.
Yep this is an off the chest blog today...but forgive me...it is the excitement typing :)
Have a great day!
