Magic Touch Giveaway Blog Hop Post!
Magic in romance... where do I start? With the magic between a man and a woman when they finally get it together and realise what they have is something worth keeping?
I love writing books with a happy ever after...
The Plan - April 15 from Beachwalk Press:
Kadie woke, Jonah’s heavy arm crossed over her body. She ached in places she hadn’t realized could ache. Her legs spasmed slightly in response to their athletic lovemaking the night before. Her body, especially between her legs, was tender. Kadie opened her eyes, knowing exactly where she was. In his arms, in his bed, after the most amazing sex of her life. Again. Damn!
I mean where else can you experience the magic of love on a daily basis (well, fictionally of course!)
Ohhh, you mean the other magic? As in Abracadabra? Oh okay... let me change gears. <g>
Ahem... So magic in books...
Yes, I like a good bit of magic in my stories. Take Blame The Wine, for example.
Blame The Wine - May 27th Total-E-Bound:
He looked for the
server, then stopped still in surprise, blinking, watching as his aunt appeared
in the seat opposite him. Her long wavy chestnut hair glinted in the dim light.
She might be Cailleach, the Mother of All, but more importantly, she was still
his aunt. Traditional Scottish mythology always showed her as an old hag, and
this was a never-ceasing source of amusement to her. But then, so was his
description as a brownie. When he assumed his true body, he was tall, redheaded
and bearded. Trim and taut, nothing like the visage he presently portrayed.
The whole concept of magic sends shivers running through my system. I mean, it's something we all look for in one incarnation or the other. In our day-to-day lives, most of us equate magic with romance and I guess that is why the paranormal romance genre is one of the biggest and growing rapidly.
But we can have it all, even if it is just between the sheets of paper in a book (or virtually if we use an ebook reader!)
Okay, enough of me yapping on about my books... I know you would like to win one... right? So let me see...

Blurb:
What happens when a former orphan, now illegal parts runner Kadie Frost falls for the new head of the Department of Authority?
Jonah Fielding has been brought in to clean up the department on Centauri, but in the course of his work, he also captures Kadie, the sprite who got away.
But what happens when work and pleasure collide?

I tend to like it because its different, exciting and creative. Like you have said, I think we all look for it and when its out of reach, we turn to books to satisfy us :) and boy are some of them wonderful!

Love can be quite magical :)
DeleteI love magic in romance because, with magic or anything paranormal, the story is not limited to the parameters like a contemporary romance is. I love all things unusual! Thanks for the chance to win!

Thanks Elizabeth. Yes Contemporary has it's place, but it is limiting sometimes :)
DeleteI love magic in books because they make the novels interesting and I love all this paranormal.

DeleteI remember 'Bewitched'. From that point on I have always wanted magic in my life. Hubby tries and he can be magical (hint, hint) and smiling real big. But not enough. So I get my magic in books. I love werewolfs, vampires, wizards, witches, ghost and any thing paranormal. Each one of these I have mentioned have a magic. The ability to shift, the ability to change, calling forth the elements, and the mystery of it all. Looking forward to learn more about you and your books.

Thanks Mary! Yes she had the most amazing way with magic, didn't she? Lol!
DeleteThe magic in a romance is something I can enjoy and live vicariously through. To say there is no magic in my life, is giving it too much credit so I need to read about it.

Aww romance is a magic all it's own. Goodluck CBarton
DeleteI love the magic in romance because it can be so random that it sweeps you off your feet :)
ReplyDeleteHi Nikki yes there is a randomness sometimes to the romance/magic

ReplyDeleteBecause the hero and heroine get their HEA. I’m a sucker for the HEA. Romance books almost always have the HEA and I love them because of it. I especially like the PNR books with hot sexy alpha heroes and kick-ass heroines.

ReplyDeleteThis is an awesome blog hop! I'm a big fan of supernatural books especially romantic ones. I love magic and I love that you never know what people's abilities are going to be. It leaves so much more open to guessing because the world that the author builds all of a sudden does NOT follow our world's rules. I love when people can listen to thoughts or move things with their minds. I also think being able to control other's emotions would be a handy gift. Probably my favorite books involving people with magic are 'Beautiful Creatures' and 'Poison Study.' It must be hard to be responsible for such power. I love when Lena from 'Beautiful Creatures' is trying to harness all she has. It's something akin to the awkwardness we all go through in middle school in which we are trying to figure out who we are.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway and I'm gonna keep on hopping!

Excellent Meghan! Remember to keep an eye on my site then... I have a number of paranormal stories coming in the very near future!
DeleteI love the magic in romance because it takes me away to a fantasy world with a happy ever after ending.
ReplyDeletebhometchko(at)hotmail(dot)com
Me too! Life without romance would be very dull indeed. Thanks for commenting!
DeleteRomance is a magic in and of itself. So magic in a romance story makes it almost more real at times? It can bring out parts of a persons personality, be a part of who they are. And you cant normally find someone like that because that sort of magic is rare. If I make any sense :P
ReplyDeletekitsune_no_sora @ yahoo
So true! Romance is a magic all of its own. And yes, you make heaps of sense! Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
DeleteI love reading books with magic in them. I love reading about all things paranormal because anything is possible.
